SOC Analyst (Tier 1 – Fresher)

About the Role

Start your career in Cybersecurity as a SOC Analyst (Tier 1) and be the first line of defense against cyber threats! In this role, you will monitor security alerts, analyze potential incidents, and work with senior analysts to keep systems and data safe. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM dashboards (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) for security alerts
• Perform initial triage and investigation of suspicious activities
• Document incidents and escalate to Tier 2 analysts when necessary
• Assist in creating and maintaining incident response reports
• Learn to identify false positives and fine-tune alert rules
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of Networking (TCP/IP, ports, protocols)
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn SIEM tools, security processes, and frameworks
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals (CIA triad, OWASP Top 10)
• Exposure to SIEM platforms through labs or academic projects
• Basic knowledge of incident response process
• Familiarity with log analysis and common attack patterns
• Certifications like CompTIA Security+, CEH (entry-level) are a plus
