Key Responsibilities

• Learn to install, configure, and maintain database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
• Monitor database performance, tune queries, and troubleshoot issues
• Assist in creating users, managing permissions, and ensuring data security
• Support database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures
• Document database structures, changes, and configurations
• Work with developers and data engineers to optimize database usage
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of SQL (queries, joins, DDL/DML commands)
• Familiarity with RDBMS concepts (tables, indexes, keys, normalization)
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn database administration tools and practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server during academic projects
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows server basics

• Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell / Python) for automating tasks
• Awareness of cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL)
