Financial Analyst Intern

Job Summary

As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in financial modeling, data analysis, and business performance reporting. You’ll work closely with the finance team to support decision-making through meaningful financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining financial models to support forecasting and planning.
• Analyze historical financial data and prepare variance reports.
• Research market trends, competitors, and industry benchmarks.
• Support in creating investor decks, management reports, and dashboards.
• Work on budgeting, cost analysis, and profitability tracking.
• Perform ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and sensitivity analysis as required.
• Present findings and recommendations to the finance leadership team.

Required Skills

• Technical/Business Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Financial Functions).
  • Basic understanding of financial modeling and valuation techniques (DCF, multiples).
  • Familiarity with BI/analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau – bonus).
• Soft Skills:
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking ability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or MBA (Finance).
• Knowledge of investment analysis, corporate finance, or FP&A concepts.
• Prior experience in financial research, case competitions, or finance internships (plus).
